Thrifting At The Amarcord And Bedford Avenue

Hello friends! It’s been a looooong time since I last posted and I apologize for that. But today, scored a whole lot of really cheap loot that I just had to share!
My friend Lilian was in town and wanted to see Williamsburg, the area where I live. The weather was perfect yesterday, brisk air and sunny skies, and we decided to walk around the Bedford area after brunch with Hae Won, who joined us for dinner. Didn’t go for more than a few blocks when we spotted this blonde model type woman standing at the corner of Grand avenue with a rack of clothes. Good thing we stopped because she had tons of cool clothes. My friend scored plaid skinnies, and Cheap Monday gray jeans. I scored two sweaters at $15 for both, and a gorgeous teal blue Jill Stuart velvet vest for $15. I ended up going back for a Ksubi oversized shirt that spells “Lest We Regret” on front.
For today's outfit, I found a cool way to mix prints using a black/red/white palette: Striped shirt, H&M; Heart-printed skirt, Topshop; Random tights; Leopard-print platforms, Alice + Olivia for Payless; Necklace, Aldo.

Possible outfit for the Ksubi shirt using my faded denim jacket accessorized with military patches from Aldo.
A fuzzy sweater with hearts and tiny pearls sewn on it. I know spring is nearly here but for some reason, I'm still buying sweaters! This would look great with my skinny leather pants. Denim booties from SM Department Store bought two years ago.
The other sweater, a Fair Isle knit with a skinnier fit and shorter hem Would also look great with my red skirt, come to think of it. Uhm, I got lazy while dressing up so I'm just wearing my tights haha!
Jill Stuart velvet vest which would also pair fabulously with a dress.
We also went to the Amarcord Warehouse Sale were most of the stuff being sold was going for $3, $5 and $10. Honestly, the pickings were slim, but I rooted and looted and managed to find these:Honestly, the pickings were slim, but I rooted and looted and managed to find these:
J.Crew pink wool pants ($5) paired with an H&M top I bought for $15 on sale. The pants are big on me, but I loved the color and how the pink and orange pairing looks very Jil Sander S/S 2011. Worn with Mango neon belt and SM Department Store nude lace-up heels.
Don't you just love the back detail on this top?

Shoes!

These don't fit (they're a size 6, and I'm a 7) but at $1 for the pair, I had to buy them. The fringed part is apparently called a kiltie. I've been looking for loafers with a kiltie or a tassle. Still haven't found them.
Vintage pumps. The heels are manageable (meaning I can walk in them the whole day), the inside surprisingly plushy, thanks to a mesh lining. I was drawn to the geometric square heel, and the contrast of the cream color against black. Very '60s! Also $1, brand Joseph Larose.
Finally found the perfect black penny loafers! Handmade and handsewn vamp. In great condition although there were areas that had some kind of white mark on them, but I was able to remove them using a cotton pad soaked in acetone. Looks slim on the foot. And only $3!!!

Ahh...the beauty of quality
The Amarcord Warehouse Sale is only until today so you better hurry! They might have new stock out again but best to go early so you get the pick of the crop. Until Sunday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 242 Wythe Avenue (enter at North 3rd Street); Williamsburg; 718-388-2884.
